Chris Brown is an Area Data Manager for Ideal Technology Solutions. He's had 10 years working in the technology industry across data, telco, automation, audio visual and security, both as an installer and as a solution designer. He has owned his own Tech/IT business for the past 5 years.

He says the appeal of his current role was the opportunity to come and work at Ideal and change the way people saw a “traditional electrical wholesaler”.

Chris says the team has started to see lighting manufacturers emerge with new PoE-powered lighting where a Cat 6/6A cable can plug directly in. This takes away the need for expensive automation relays, dimmers and switches because everything runs back to a network and can be controlled. The integration of technology and lighting means Ideal have now even more experts in the field and can offer something completely customised for each client.
